Affiliate disclosure

This site earns commission on purchases made through its links. Here is exactly how that works and what it does not change.

By Michael W. · Published October 5, 2026

Plate & Spool is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.

As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. If you click a product link here and buy something, this site receives a small commission. It costs you nothing extra — the price is the same as if you had gone to Amazon directly.

Which links earn

Product links earn. Every "Check price on Amazon" button and every product name linking to a retailer is an affiliate link. They are marked as sponsored in the page markup, per Google's link policy, and they open in a new tab.

Citation links do not earn. Links in the Sources list at the bottom of each page — manufacturer documentation, retailer spec listings, third-party publications — are there so you can check a figure. They are not affiliate links and they earn nothing.

Internal links do not earn. Links to other pages on this site earn nothing directly, and they frequently point you at a cheaper answer than the page you are on.

Amazon only, and why

Every earning link on this site goes to Amazon. That is not because Amazon pays best — several manufacturers run affiliate programs with higher rates — but because this site has not joined any of them, and building a tracking link for a program you have not joined earns nothing while looking like it should.

If that changes, the destination for each product is a configuration entry rather than something written into the page text, so a joined program becomes a one-line change with no content rewritten. You would see the same recommendations with a different retailer behind the button.

What it does not change

The honest answer to "does the commission affect the advice" is not a promise, it is evidence. So here is the evidence:

  • The most important page on this site concludes that most P1S owners should keep their printer and spend a fifth of the money on a part. Recommending a new machine would earn several times more.
  • The H2D versus H2S comparison steers most readers to the cheaper machine.
  • The cheap-upgrades page opens by telling you the three best fixes are free.
  • Every pick on this site names who it is wrong for. That line exists specifically to stop people buying things, and it is mandatory.

A site optimizing for commission would not contain any of that. These pages do, which is the only kind of proof available.

Prices and availability

Prices and availability are set by the retailer and change without notice. This site displays no numeric prices in its body copy, which is deliberate: a figure typed into an article is wrong within a month and stays wrong while still looking authoritative.

Buttons send you to the live listing, which is always current. If this site ever does show a price, it will carry the date it was checked and it will disappear on its own when that date goes stale. How we review.

No sponsorship, no supplied hardware

No manufacturer has paid for coverage on this site, supplied a product for review, or had any input into what appears here. There are no sponsored posts, no paid placements and no product-for-coverage arrangements.

This site also has no relationship with Bambu Lab. It is written by an owner, not by or for the manufacturer.

Product images

Product photographs on this site are licensed stock images of the product class rather than photographs of the specific item, because no first-party product photography exists here yet. Every product card that uses one states this in visible copy, because presenting a stock photo as the product would be a false representation.
